Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This wonderful Texas Merlot has a rich ruby hue and luscious legs that cling to the glass. It has vibrant aromas of cherries, raspberries, and figs with a touch of garden-fresh herbs. Flavors of red berries carry over to the palate with notes of nutmeg and ginger. Structured tannins linger on the finish with flavors of black tea.
Vineyard Notes
100% Merlot from Diamante Doble Vineyard, Tokio, TX
Winemaker Notes
Merlot (mer-low) is a red wine grape originating from the Bordeaux region in France. It grows well in a number of wine producing regions and is very popular in blends as well as a standalone single varietal. Merlot can have similar aromas and flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon but tend to have softer, more chalky tannins and lighter bodies.
Food Pairing Notes
Sage derby cheese, Chinese tea leaf eggs, orzo pasta with chicken and pesto, smoked pork ribs with classic baked beans, rosemary shortbread bars with dark chocolate.

This excellent wine called to mind for us a fresh clover leaf, with cherry mid-point and butterscotch on the finish. Full mouth flavor, stood up to vinaigrette and peppery parsley-and-greens salad. Complimented without losing complexity.
