Montepulciano (mon-tae-pul-chee-AH-noh) is a transplant from southern Italy that produces well-rounded smooth wines of deep color. The growing conditions of the High Plains are perfect for this grape and only enhance the Texas reputation as the “Mediterranean of North America.” Montepulciano is as fun to drink as it is to say.
