Diamante Doble Vineyard
15 months in French and American oak
February 6, 2021
Unlike our Mourvèdre Rose, the red version has a gorgeous ruby color. Aromas of black tea leaf and wild raspberry are plentiful. One sip and the pallet are overwhelmed with ripe wild berries with a hint of butter and caramel on the finish. Soft tannins linger brining out delicate flavors of cherry and gingerbread.
100% Mourvedre from Diamante Doble Vineyard, Tokio, TX
Mourvèdre (more-VEH-drha), also known as Mataró or Monastrell, is a red grape varietal that historically has been grown in France and Spain. It does well in warm to hot climates making it a perfect addition to Texas winemaking.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair with torta del casar cheese, braised lamb shank, chicken shawarma, garlic parmesan baked eggplant, or snickerdoodle cookies.
