Combining 2019 Mourvèdre with the 2020 makes for the perfect expression of ripe and matured flavors and aromas. When swirled, a subtle tawny color reveals itself within the ruby hue. Aromas of red raspberry and currents mix with soft tea and cardamon. On the pallet, this Mourvèdre is filled with wild berries and a hint of mocha. Soft tannins linger, bringing out delicate flavors of vanilla and star anise.

Mourvèdre (more-VEH-drha), also known as Mataró or Monastrell, is a red grape varietal that historically has been grown in France and Spain. It does well in warm to hot climates making it a perfect addition to Texas winemaking. This Mourvedre is a non-vintage because grapes form the 2019 and 2020 harvest were used to create it.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair with Genoa Salami with smoked gouda, Moroccan style lamb, grilled vegetable skewers, flank steak served with mushroom risotto, or dark chocolate covered pretzels.

When Lost Oak folks told me it was a dry red, I was expecting a lack luster wine, sour kind of tasteless, but I wanted to try something new. Oh wow, was I wrong. It's rich, dark, and sweet but not too sweet. Its fruity & delicious. My new favorite.
