Tasting Notes
With the color of bright sunshine, this Riesling is ready for summer. Delightfully sweet, it has aromas of granny smith apple, pear and honey. It has refreshing flavors of prickly pear fruit and light honey with a finish of vibrant apple.
Winemaker Notes
The Riesling grape originated in the Rhine region of Germany. It is widely planted in cooler climates including Rhine, Alsace, South Australia and Austria but many growers are finding that it is not limited to cooler climates. The versatile nature of this grape is proving its value in Texas. In Texas, it is mostly planted in the High Plains region. Most people are familiar with sweet versions of this wine, but it can also be used to make crisp, dry wines as well. For this Riesling, a light sweet style was chosen, just in time for the Texas summer.
Food Pairing Notes
Spanakopita with feta, classic pork chops with applesauce and honey glazed carrots, green tea mochi or grilled peaches with vanilla ice cream and balsamic vinegar drizzle
